Arnold Foote celebrates 85th birthday in style

Statesman and advertising pioneer Professor the Honourable Arnold Foote, OJ, CD, DHC, JP, celebrated his 85th birthday surrounded by family and friends recently.

The guests ran the gamut of Jamaican politics, industry, glitterati and the consular corps, gathered at the Terra Nova Hotel to share Foote Jr’s circle around the sun.

Sharing toasts were the Most Honourable Sir Kenneth Hall ON,GCMG, OJ; the Hon R. Danny Williams, OJ CD, Hon. LLD, JP, CLU; along with Foote’s wife, Patricia; son ‘JJ’; and granddaughter Arnella Goubault. The words visibly moved the family patriarch and honorary consul to Turkey, who offered a heartfelt reply.

Earlier in the evening, Ity and Fancy Cat drew bouts of laughter from an enthralled audience, who then danced to the stylings of Ernie Smith to cap the night.
