Crowley Maritime Corporation recently teamed up with subsidiary SeaFreight, and on-island shipping agent Lannaman & Morris, to hold an educational breakfast forum in a bid to better serve the diverse needs of growers and exporters across Jamaica. "We at Crowley are uniquely positioned to add value to our customers' supply chains by both increasing the velocity of those supply chains with our integrated services, and in doing so, reducing their total landed cost," said Mark Kearns, director, logistics operations, at the forum. The event featured a presentation from Christopher Prendergast, supervisor/agricultural specialist, United States Department of Agriculture Jamaica Preclearance Programme, regarding procedures related to the shipments of agricultural goods to the US. Among the presenters were (left to right) Harry Maragh, chairman & CEO, Lannaman & Morris Shipping Limited; Michelle Chong, president , Jamaica Exporters' Association; Bindley Sangster, special adviser to the minister of transport; Ana Molina, director, Caribbean sales, Crowley; Janet Ramos, reefer sales Manager; and Nelly Yunta, vice-president, Customized Brokers (a Crowley Company).
