Delano Forbes takes a bride!
"We fall in love by chance and stay in love by choice." These words ring true for Phase 3 Director Richard Delano Forbes Jr and Alliance Investments Manager Ro-Yen Chin.
The two met three years ago just by chance, and, since then, the friendship has blossomed into a deep love and appreciation for each other.
Last Saturday, November 8, the two made it official when they tied the knot at the Webster Memorial United Church in Kingston.
From the outset, it was obvious that a lot of thought and effort went into the affair, beginning with the invitations which were handmade by the bride and her cousin, Jean Chin. According to Ro-Yen, "I wanted to represent myself and Delano in the overall look. Everything had to be chic, clean and simple, with accents of sapphire blue and navy."
Laden in all white, the church, was a sight to behold. The bride's anticipated arrival elicited laughter, tears and applause, as she looked resplendent in a white Lazaro Perez gown, make-up by Geneva Whorms, and hair by Lisa Hutchinson. Her groom was styled in a dark blue and black Carlton Brown suit while his groomsmen wore black.
The ceremony was officiated by Reverend Astor Carlyle, who gave the young couple words of advice on the unity and bond of marriage.
The theme and colour scheme were well executed throughout the entire event. From the church to the reception held at Brentwood Estate, Norbrook, the blue China vase centrepieces, the all-white paper flower panels and other amazing decor elements by Dawn Leyow of DEC Events, all stuck to the theme. An unusual gifting idea was the Love Spice created by Belcour, which each guest received at the reception.
Suzanne Couch did an excellent job at her catering duties, while Sean Gonzalez of Top Shelf handled the bar service and wedding planner Melanie Miller took care of the overall preparations.
Maid of honour Sarah Moss-Solomon toasted the bride and spoke to their long friendship and Ro-Yen's dedicated and assiduous nature while best man Christopher Jumpp recalled childhood memories with the groom and spoke of him as being an astute businessman with a strong entrepreneurial spirit, and his solid upbringing, attributed to his parents.
An amazing video production by Laura McDonald, a long-time family friend of the Forbes, kept guests entertained during the cocktail hour.
Trio Ambiance provided live dinner music at the reception and DJ Smoke kept the after party going.
