Curio -A Collection by Hilton Launches in Jamaica
Curio - A Collection by Hilton, is the latest world-wide hospitality brand, to embrace Jamaica’s tourism product. Last Tuesday night, they announced their arrival in spectacular fashion at a cocktail reception, held at the Montego Bay convention Centre.
The evening begun with specifically invited guests being feted to an elaborate buffet, and an open bar, at the entrance to the Montego Bay Convention Centre’s grand ballroom. The area was totally transformed into an elegant setting-with pink and white décor that boasted posh white sofas and cabanas.
There were smiles and laughter all around, as guests mingled, feasting on their favourite hors d'oeuvres. Rhythm Force Steel Band, brought an extra element to the evening with a live performance that had several guests swaying to their musical beats.
After satisfying their palates, guests assembled inside the meeting hall where representatives from the hospitality sector spoke about the partnership.
“There’s really no place else in the Caribbean like Jamaica,” declared Dianna Vaughan global Head for Curio - A Collection by Hilton, in her address. “From its abundant and striking beauty, to it’s unquestionable quest for life, fantastic weather and pristine beaches, this place has just so much to offer,” she added.
Sagicor owned, Jewel Dunn’s River Beach in Ocho Rios, and Jewel Paradise Cove Beach Resort & Spa in Runaway Bay, are the first two hotels that have been hand-picked in Jamaica to partner with Curio -A Collection by Hilton. Both hotels are also the first in the Caribbean to be embraced by the brand.
Among those in attendance were Minister of Tourism, Dr Wykeham McNeill, Director of Tourism, Paul Pennicook, and Chief Executive Officer for Sagicor Group, Richard Byles.
