Tuesday, May 5 was celebrated as Read Across Jamaica Day and staff volunteers from the National Commercial Bank (NCB) went out to read to and interact with the students from various schools. More than 15 of the adopted schools in NCB Foundation's Adopt a School programme were visited by staff members with more than 100 volunteers.

The Adopt a School programme started in October 2014 and has so far adopted 31 primary schools across Jamaica, with all NCB and Advantage General Insurance Company branches, units and divisions being responsible for the school in their area. Read Across Jamaica Day is just one of a number of ways in which the foundation assists the schools.
