WESTERN BUREAU:

Not deterred by the cancellation of the Jamaica Jazz and Blues Festival this year, New York based Dale 'People's Choice Furniture' Getfield, and the people who support his jazz beach party, refused to cancel their annual event.

Instead, the party people, renowned for taking over Tropical Beach at the Whitehouse fishing village in Montego Bay, hopped on air planes that plies the US Jamaica route, and hosted their "Fantasy All-White Beach Party' on Sunday.

An intimate affair, Tropical Beach's flora and large space was the perfect setting for many of the revellers, who are members of the Diaspora, and who brought their Trinidadian and Vincentian friends to experience authentic Jamaica.

This is an event that has a large following and is usually hosted on the Saturday during jazz each year.

"I thought of cancelling this year, but we are building a brand that should be able to stand on its own," said Dale Getfield, the man behind the event.

He added that those who attend have made it a calendar event and that type of loyalty cannot be taken lightly.
