Hors d'oeuvres were aplenty and libations were flowing, the mood was set for a celebration, and a celebration it was.

A blue carpet welcomed guests to the opening of Magna's new showroom on Old Hope Road on Wednesday evening, and the official dealers of Hyundai made their presence felt in a big way.

Sales manager of Magna Motors Carlos Geourzoung, must have been a proud man as guests took in the new facilities and top-of-the-line automobiles that were on display.

"The showroom will act as home to preview our award-winning vehicles and gain more details and insight on Hyundai. We are happy to be changing gears to ensure we exceed expectations and create even more memorable customer experiences," noted Geourzoung, adding, "We look forward to welcoming customers here."

As the Lama family shared their excitement for the new showroom, their managing director, Juan Vargas, emphasised that the new showroom represents Magna Motors' commitment to the development of Jamaica's automotive industry.

The very short formalities continued in the spirit of celebration as Minister of Tourism Edmund Bartlett

was beaming with pride at Jamaica's recent third place on TripAdvisor's list of best island destination in the world. He quipped that the island was only at number three because he has only been tourism minister for such a short time.

That and Magna's arrival in the island has great economic prospects that formed part of the night's celebrations. As the blue curtains fell and the Hyundai's insignia gleamed in the spotlight, glasses clinked and bubbles tickled the nose in a champagne toast welcoming Magna to Jamaica.
