Conscious of the needs and wants of those in the diaspora, chef Dave Williams offered a menu of 'Ole Time Sumting' at Dale Getfield's annual Fantasy All-White Beach Party at Tropical Bliss on Sunday.

Now in its seventh year, the renowned chef, who boasts of having 35 years experience under his belt, had the 'foreigners' literally eating out of his hands as he took the Jamaican Sunday dinner to the beach.

His gungo rice and peas, escoveitch fish, curried goat, mannish water, corned pork, mackerel run down, roasted sweet potato, jerked pork, ackee and salt fish, roast yam and festival brought back memories of 'old time' Jamaica to the mostly New Yorkers and Floridians who stayed a day after Rebel Salute to revel at the seventh annual all-white affair.

As mouth-watering, tasty and exciting as the food was, Getfield's event was defined by the musical genius of the selectors he handpicked for patrons.

Fantasy All-White Beach Party is one of a number of events the New York businessman throws each year. His name appears on the mega 'Trelawny WI Come From', 'Colours on the Ocean' boat ride and his 'Black-Tie Birthday', all in the United States.

Patrons are guaranteed a great time As one regular partygoer puts it: "We are brought so much closer to our culture with events like these. The food, the music, is all authentic."
