Jamaica Moves with DynamicPat 380
To celebrate her 38th birthday, fitness trainer and transformation coach Patrice White has committed to running 380 miles in one month.
But White is not doing this alone. A firm believer in transforming lives one person at a time, she has invited her 'Dynamic Lifestylers' and the wider Jamaica to join her and also complete their own 380 miles between June 24 and July 24.
White told TODAY: "Every year, I set fitness goals for myself and they become my 'why' - that's what motivates me. Having accomplished most of my fitness goals so far this year, I decided that this was the best way to challenge myself to see how far I could push my body mentally, physically and emotionally."
All round challenge
She noted that many ordinary Jamaicans may not log a lot of miles per week, so she is opening it up to them to also challenge themselves mentally and emotionally, and with a community via the Facebook page - DynamicPat380 - they will know that they are not alone. "If you 're trying to lose weight, you will see the pounds melt off. If weight loss is not your goal, then it builds you mentally as it's a way to challenge your mental strength."
The challenge is to be done in groups of no more than eight persons, with each group required to register via the Facebook page and have each member of the group download the mapmymiles app. Each day, White will have updates on her Instagram account (patricejwhite) on how she trains. For the month, Outlook Magazine will help the teams achieve their goals with tips on eating plans and how to keep the body hydrated - all part of getting Jamaica to move.
There will also be prizes and giveaways. The first three teams to log 380 miles, and the top-three females and males who log the most miles will receive prizes from Brunswick, iCool and Jamaica Moves.
