1 There needs to be some mechanisms in place to rein in people who sit on boards, especially public ones. From all accounts it's a free for all. From high-end luxury vehicles to million-dollar-a-month phone bill, to foreign education for children and all-expenses-paid Riviera weddings. Poor shareholders!

2 Nothing like an election to wake up the lurking beast in some people. If constituents could be a fly on the wall and hear the strategies and tactics to be employed, they would be truly aghast. Then they would realise how little their lives factor in the equation.

3 For now, the cougar is content to let the young professional spend a little time at home. Some are predicting that as more space is created for him near the top, his boss will become even more demanding. He may soon have to make a choice: family or advancement.
