Bolt clocks 9.98
Usain Bolt clocked 9.98 seconds to win the Kamila Skolimowska Memorial meet's men's 100-metre run on a specially built straight track down the side of the infield area at Warsaw's National Stadium yesterday.
Bolt was warming up for his first Diamond League race of the year in Zurich on Thursday. Fellow Jamaican Sheldon Mitchell was second in 10.33
Yesterday's run was his third of the year. He had earlier anchored Jamaica to victory in the 4x100m at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, then clocked 10.06 to win a 100m race on Brazil's Copacabana beach.
In other track events in Warsaw yesterday, Cuba's Orlando Ortega won the men's 110m hurdles in 13.03, beating Frenchman record holder Pascal Martinot Lagarde, 13.06.
Germany's Verena Sailor captured the women's 100m in 11.25 while American Nia Ali took the 100 hurdles in 12.77.
