FOOTBALL: Reggae Boyz fail to end losing streak in Japan after own goal

Jamaica’s Reggae Boyz are returning home to continue their preparation for the Caribbean Cup in Montego Bay following a 1-0 defeat against Japan in a friendly international in Niigata this morning.



The game was played at the 42,000-capacity Denka Big Swan Stadium.



An own goal from Jamaica’s Nyron Nosworthy handed Japan the glory, their first victory under new coach Javier Aguirre.



The defeat condemned the Reggae Boyz to their sixth straight defeat in friendly international matches.



The game was Jamaica’s final warm-up match ahead of the November 10-18 Caribbean Cup.



Japan will now travel to Singapore on Saturday where they play Brazil in a friendly at the city-state's $1 billion Sports Hub.



Meanwhile, assistant Reggae Boyz coach Miguel Coley had to be taken to hospital after collapsing in the dressing room during second half action.
