Queen's seniors, juniors score impressive wins
DEFENDING senior Inter-secondary Schools Sports Association Urban netball champions, the Queen's School, scored a one-sided 86-4 win over Mona High on Friday.
The Marvette Anderson-coached school were all over their opponents from the start as they produced one of the highest-scoring games in the history of the competition. The quarterly scores were 22-1, 41-2, 63-4, and 82-4.
It was the fourth win in a row for the defending champions who a week earlier had an impressive victory over the previously unbeaten Gaynstead High as they took control of Group E.
The Queen's junior team, also the defending champions in their division, had set the pace earlier as they also remained unbeaten in winning their fourth game on the trot, drubbing Mona 63-2. The scores at the end of each quarter were 22-1, 36-1, 50-2, and 63-2.0
Coach Anderson praised her senior team.
"The ladies continue to improve. Captain Priscilla Thomas has been a tower of strength and is supported by National Under-16 and -21 player Simone Gordon, along with Tamoya Henry," Anderson said.
Jonathan Grant High also continued their winning form this season. The Spanish Town team had a good double victory over Vauxhall. The juniors won 42-11, while the seniors completed a 42-31 victory.
