Don't oppose Trojan
Both the Pick 9 and Super-6s start anew at Caymanas Park tomorrow, the popular exotic bets offering guaranteed minimums of $1 million and $750,000 respectively.
The Pick-9 will embrace races two to 10, the first Super-6 from race one to six, the late Super-6 from race five to 10.
We look at the first Super-6 to be contested by maiden 4-y-o and up over a mile. From all indications, the two best equipped to fight it out in the seven-horse field are the lightly raced HAIL THE KING to be ridden by former champion Hubert 'Chinna' Bartley, and JOHN D LINJAH with the claiming apprentice Davidan Robinson aboard.
HAIL THE KING
HAIL THE KING, who finished a close third (running on) to CLASSIC VOGUE over the straight recently, will enjoy the longer distance and with Bartley replacing the sparingly-used Owen Laidley aboard the 4-y-o son of HAIL ORPHAN, he catches my fancy.
FRANKENSTORM, now pretty light with 50.0kg under top apprentice O'Brien White, should lead home recent winner EXEL and WESTERN BULL in the second race over 1,200 metres for $450,000 - $400,000 claiming horses. FRANKENSTOR has been running consistently well and is weighted to win.
Briefly, AQUILO (Orlando Foster up) beat all barring LASHING FORCE on Heroes Day and is tipped to go one better in the third race over 1,500 metres in which PRINCE O'SHAUN looks his obvious danger in a field of seven.
The well- forward two-year-old debutante TROJAN (Shane Ellis up) has been moving too impressively at exercise to lose the fourth race over 1,000 metres for two-year-olds, while it should be the straight specialist GRANDE MARQUE (Foster up) in the fifth and AWESOME CODE (Richie Mitchell) to outfinish REIGN OVER ALL in the sixth over 1,200 metres.
