Schools resume title hunt

AFTER an impressive season last year when they were crowned urban and all-island champions, The Queen's School's junior and senior netball teams will continue their bid to retain both titles as the second round of the Inter-Secondary Schools Sports Association (ISSA) urban netball competitions begins at the Leila Robinson Court today.

Action starts at 1:30 p.m., with the juniors taking the courts, to be followed by the seniors at 2:15 p.m.

Queen's, who were perfect

in the preliminary stage of the competition, where each of their teams won five matches, will face Camperdown High in junior and senior play.

The junior and senior teams are placed in two different groups.

Queen's seniors are in Group Two, where they will play alongside Group A winners St Catherine High, Group C winners St Andrew High, Group B runners-up Jonathan Grant, and Campion College, who were runners-up in Group C.

Group One is comprised of St Hugh's High, who were beaten finalists last year; Norman Manley High, Tarrant High; Convent of Mercy Academy (Alpha); and Gaynstead High.

Queen's juniors are in Group Two, alongside Meadowbrook High, Jonathan Grant, Alpha, Campion College, and Camperdown High.

The Group One teams are Norman Manley, St Catherine High, Holy Childhood High, Immaculate Conception, Excelsior High, and Gaynstead High.

After the completion of group matches, on a round-robin basis, the winners and runners-up from each group will advance to the semi-finals, slated to be played on Friday, November 21. The finals are scheduled for Wednesday, November 26.
