Barclays Premier League Previews

BURNLEY

VS HULL CITY

Four of the last five league meetings between Burnley and Hull City have ended with a 1-0 scoreline. Hull won the last meeting between the two sides at Turf Moor in March 2013, but this ended a run of seven straight wins for the Clarets over the Tigers. Burnley are the 10th side to fail to win any of their opening 10 Premier League matches of a single season. Three of the previous nine have survived.

MANCHESTER UTD VS CRYSTAL PALACE

Manchester United have made their worst start to a Premier League season, with just 13 points from 10 games. Their previous worst was 17 points. But Palace have failed to score in eight of the 10 Premier League meetings with Manchester United. Robin van Persie has scored a penalty in each of his two Premier League appearances against Palace.

WEST HAM UNITED VS ASTON VILLA

West Ham are flying high, sitting in fifth place, level on points with Arsenal. But they have won just five of their last 27 Barclays Premier League meetings with Aston Villa, while drawing 13 and losing nine. This is a poor start for Villa; only twice before have they had fewer than their current total of 10 points after 10 games.

SUNDERLAND

VS EVERTON

Everton boss Roberto Martinez must decide whether to recall Romelo Lukaku, who was dropped to the bench for last weekend's 0-0 draw with Swansea. Perhaps he should; the striker has scored three goals in four Barclays Premier League appearances against Sunderland. And Sunderland have won just one of their last six Premier League matches at the Stadium of Light.

TOT HOTSPUR VS

STOKE CITY

Tottenham have won six and lost just one of the last nine Barclays Premier League games against Stoke City. The Potters have only won one of six trips to White Hart Lane in the Premier League, drawing two and losing three. Stoke, though, should be confident: Spurs have lost three of their last four Premier League matches at White Hart Lane.

WEST BROM VS NEWCASTLE UNITED

West Bromwich Albion have only won three of their 16 Premier League clashes with Newcastle United, drawing four and losing nine. The Magpies, though, are the only team in the top flight so far without a goal in the opening 30 minutes of a Barclays Premier League match this season.
