Foster in Jamaica squad
Former national Under-20 striker, Craig Foster, is in line for his senior debut with Jamaica's Reggae Boyz in this month's Caribbean Football Union (CFU) Caribbean Cup, which will be held at the Montego Bay Sports Complex.
Foster, who is the leading scorer in this season's Red Stripe Premier League, is among five local-based players who have been included in Jamaica's 23-man squad for the tournament, which is set to kick off on November 11.
Other local-based members of the squad are Waterhouse's trio of Romario Campbell, Hughan Gray and Nicholy Finlayson, and Kemar Lawrence of Harbour View.
Foster, who represents Reno in the Red Stripe Premier League, has netted 11 goals this season. The 23-year-old striker had a stint in the Swedish second division in 2012 with club side Motala AIF and led the Jamaica's Under-20 team at the CONCACAF Finals. He netted eight goals throughout the campaign.
Eight teams, divided into two groups, are set to feature in this year's tournament, which will be used as a qualifier to the CONCACAF Gold Cup. Hosts the Reggae Boyz were drawn in Group B alongside Haiti, Martinique and Antigua and Barbuda. Group A consists of defending champions Cuba, along with Trinidad and Tobago, Curacao and French Guiana.
The Reggae Boyz will tackle Martinique in their opening game on November 12. They will then face Antigua and Barbuda two days later, before closing out the group stage against Haiti in November. The top two teams from each group will qualify for the semi-finals.
THE squad is: Andre Blake, Ryan Thompson, DuWayne Kerr, Kemar Lawrence, Nyron Nosworthy, Wes Morgan, Hughan Gray, Nicholy Finlayson, Jermaine Taylor, Demar Phillips, Alvas Powell, Joel McAnuff, Romario Campbell, Simon Dawkins, Joel Grant, Rudolph Austin, Je-Vaughn Watson, Darren Mattocks, Dane Richards, Michael Seaton, Craig Foster, Deshorn Brown, Jamar Loza.
