Cavalier Soccer Club rebounded from a string of losses with a 3-1 victory against struggling Boys' Town in their Red Stripe Premier League 11th round football match at the Anthony Spaulding Sports Complex in Arnett Gardens yesterday.

Following three consecutive losses, Cavalier moved to 20 points and added to Boys' Town's woes as the latter dropped to last position on seven points.

Girvon Brown netted his fourth goal of the season in the 38th minute, while Claudious Blackburn (75th) and substitute Javanie Mitchell (85th) added the other goals for Cavalier. Boys' Town's 17-year-old schoolboy, Shamar Nicholson, scored in the 48th minute.

ejections

Both teams ended with 10 players as Jeffrey Grant of Cavalier and Peter Keyes of Boys' Town were ejected by referee Daneon Parchment for violent conduct in the 29th minute.

Cavalier were better organised and deserved the victory.

"We had a lot more possession and moved the ball around," coach of Cavalier, Rudolph Speid, told The Gleaner.

"We forced the game and scored three beautiful goals. Blackburn started for the first time in a long time and he played well," Speid added.

On the other hand, Boys' Town's coach, Andrew Price, said his team needs to start winning.

"We have to do some soul searching. We have quality young players, but the team just did not turn up. The players have to do much better in order to win games," Price responded.
