Leewards facing defeat

Jamaica Franchise spinners Nikita Miller and Damion Jacobs have the Leewards Hurricanes on the run going into today's third day of the WICB Four-day Professional encounter at Sabina Park.
Both played leading roles with bat and ball to put Jamaica in a strong position to force an outright win.
Resuming yesterday on 165 for seven, and a 62 runs lead on first innings, Jamaica went on to post 222 with Miller topscoring with 62, and Jacobs next best on 41.
This provided Jamaica with a healthy lead of 119 runs on first innings. At the close yesterday the Hurricanes were 155 for six, an overall lead of 36.
Miller, three for 33, and Jacobs - who had a five-wicket haul in the first innings - three for 39, have so far led the home team's second innings bowling display.
Miller hit seven fours and six in his seventh first-class half-century. Fast bowler Gavin Tonge, with five for 57 ended as the Hurricane's top bowler. Orlando Peters, four for 44, was next best.
When the Leewards batted they were lifted by Lyndel Richardson and Monticin Hodge who put on 56 for the second wicket. However, soon after the departure of Richardson for 36 and Hodge for 58, they again suffered the all too familiar batting collapse courtesy of Miller and Jacobs.
Wicketkeeper Jahmar Hamil-ton, who has so far spent over two hours at the crease, will resume today on 27 with Rahkeem Cornwall, who has faced one ball and is zero not out.
