Bolt, Fraser-Pryce to host Christmas treat
The world's fastest man and woman, Usain Bolt and Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce, respectively, will on Boxing Day visit their respective hometowns of Waterhouse, Kingston, and Sherwood Content, Trelawny, to host Christmas community treats.
Both events are supported by Digicel and will be free of cost to community members. The children will enjoy a day of rides, entertainment and toys courtesy of the telecommunications company.
"I can recall having many fun Christmases in Sherwood Content, not because we had a lot, but because our community came together and made the most of what we had," said Bolt. "This treat is a continuation of this community spirit, which will in turn help to create fond Christmas memories for the children of Sherwood."
Likewise, Fraser-Pryce said she wants to help the children of her community to have a happy Christmas.
"Every year since 2008 I have returned to Waterhouse to host this treat, because when I was growing up, there were many years I did not receive Christmas gifts or anything special to eat at that time of year," she said.
"This is a way for me, through my foundation and with the support of my sponsors, Digicel, Nike and GraceKennedy, to help the children have a brighter Christmas," Fraser-Pryce added.
In addition to these ambassador treats, Digicel will be supporting 70 additional treats over the Christmas period, where more than 6,000 children will receive toys courtesy of the telecommunications company.
