Arsenal should be confident going into this festive fixture. The Gunners have not lost on Boxing Day since 1999, at Coventry, and they have never been beaten at home on this date in the Barclays Premier League.
The last time Arsenal lost at home on December 26 was in 1987, when Nottingham Forest won 2-0 at the Gunners' old home of Highbury in the old First Division.
Since their last loss on this day, Arsenal are unbeaten in 13 games, winning 10 (they didn't play on Boxing Day two years ago).
Rangers are used to travelling on this day; in 10 previous Boxing Day fixtures they have been on the road on seven occasions. And the Hoops have not won away on this day since 1967, when they beat Plymouth Argyle 1-0 at Home Park.
The last time these teams met on Boxing Day was in 1995 and Arsenal won 3-0 at Highbury.
Rangers, though, were impressive on Saturday, winning 3-2 against West Bromwich Albion after trailing 2-0. QPR owed that win, only their fifth of the season, to Charlie Austin, who scored a hat-trick to take his tally this season to 13 goals in 15 games (including nine in the last eight matches).
