ATHLETICS: Carter and Fraser-Pryce to open season today

Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce and Nesta Carter are set to open their season today at the Queen's/Grace Jackson meet, at the National Stadium.

Fraser-Pryce, who will defend her World Championships sprint double in Beijing this summer, is expected to face the starter in the women's 400 metres.

Carter is also expected to take on the one lap event.

World indoor medalist in 4x400 metres Edino Steele will test his endurance in the 800 metres.

The events to be contested include the 400m, 800m, sprint hurdles, 200m, 4x400m, triple jump, high jump, shot put, javelin and long jump.

This year's honourees are MVP Track Club president, Bruce James, and Commonwealth Games 400m hurdles gold medallist, Kaliese Spencer, and 200m winner, Rasheed Dwyer.
