The General Accident Amateur Tennis Championships will serve off today at the Liguanea Club in New Kingston. It is the first in the series of the Llockett McGregor 2015 series.

The tournament starts at 9 a.m. and runs until 4 p.m. Action will continue tomorrow, next Thursday, Friday, and end next Saturday.

Llockett McGregor, the tournament's director, anticipates another exciting contest among amateurs, as well as junior tennis players.

"It will be a very exciting tournament that has attracted some of Jamaica's top amateur and junior players," McGregor told the gathering at the launch yesterday at Liguanea Club.

"This series will continue to help with the development of the players, and we at Tennis Jamaica are grateful to our sponsor for coming on board for the second year in a row," McGregor, who is also a Tennis Jamaica director and coach, said.

Meanwhile, Andrea Muir-Gibbs, General Accident Insurance Company's Broker Services manager, said her company is happy to once again sponsor the tournament.

"We are no strangers to this tournament, and will continue to support tennis. It gives the company great leverage," Muir-Gibbs said.

The winners of the different categories will receive medals and prizes. However, there will be no cash incentives.
