FOOTBALL: Whitmore set to depart the island to Honduras

Former national senior coach Theodore Whitmore is set to leave the island today for the CONCACAF Under-17 Championships in Honduras in his capacity as a member of the CONCACAF technical study group.

This will be Whitmore’s first assignment as part of the study group which is headed by Luiz Manuel Hernandez of Cuba.

Former national coach Carl Brown is also a member of the group.

Whitmore, who is the current national Under-20 team coach, has also been assigned to the Under-20 World Cup in New Zealand later this year as part of FIFA's Technical study group.

Whitmore was also at the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil as a member of the FIFA study group, where he assessed several matches on behalf the world governing’s body of football.

Back in 2011 Whitmore spent three weeks in Brazil on an internship operation where he worked with the coaches at two of the top clubs in Brazil.
