CRICKET: India’s coach heads to father's funeral

India’s coach Duncan Fletcher has left the Cricket World Cup to attend his father-in-law’s funeral in South Africa and will miss his team’s match against the United Arab Emirates today.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India said in a statement yesterday that the Zimbabwean-born Fletcher, left the team Thursday.

He is expected to fly back from Cape Town to Perth in time for India’s next match against the West Indies on March 6.

India leads Pool B at the tournament after wins over Pakistan and South Africa.
