All ‘business’ for Harbour View striker Jorginho James at trial in Finland
Jorginho 'Moon Man' James, the Harbour View Football Club (HVFC) player who has represented the national senior football team and scored, is now in Finland on a one-month trial stint with a Premier League club.
Clyde Jureidini, general manager, HVFC, told The Gleaner that the striker has been in Finland for more than a week and things have gone well so far.
"This is his second week and he will be there for a month," said Jureidini.
"That is where the opportunity for him was offered, and so we decided to send him there," Jureidini said.
"We are hoping for the positive feedbacks, but we are not going to get into any details about the club," he stated, making it clear he would not disclose the name of the club or the division in which the club is playing in Finland until negotiations are finalised.
"We have two other players overseas on trial, and so we will release the names of these players in the coming days," Jureidini said.
Meanwhile, James plans to make his club and parents proud by securing an overseas contract.
"I just want to take this time to thank all parties who made this trip possible. I am happy to get the chance to play in another country and enhance my career," James is quoted, on HVFC's facebook page.
"I am grateful for this opportunity and I hope, in the future, everyone will benefit from it."
Continuing, he said: "I am settled and getting into the team properly. It's really cold, but nothing out of the usual for me. Ever since I arrived, it has been all business on the field and I like it so far."
James, former Kingston College and Wolmer's Boys' standout, has netted one goal in the Red Stripe Premier League competition this season.
The 20-year-old scored one goal for the Reggae Boyz in his debut appearance, while still in school, against Cuba in 2012.
