FOOTBALL: Under-23 team thrash Cayman Islands 4-0
Jamaica’s Under-23 team thrashed the Cayman Islands 4-0 in their international friendly at the Montego Bay Sports Complex yesterday.
Three of Jamaica’s goals came in the final five minutes of the game, all from substitutes, after both teams made a raft of changes.
Romario Williams gave the Jamaicans the lead in the 30th minute, but they had to wait until the 85th minute when Leon Bailey netted to put them 2-nil up.
Christopher Ingram added a third, in the 87th minute, when he curled the ball from the left side of the 18-yard area and high into the far corner.
Kendon Anderson made it 4-nil.
Both teams were using the game as part of their CONCACAF Olympic Games qualifying preparation.
