NETBALL: Sunshine Girls set to benefit from Elite League matches
General manager, of Netball Jamaica, Karen Anderson, says the Sunshine Girls stand to benefit significantly from playing in the Berger Paints Elite League, as they continue their preparations for this year's Netball Cup tournament.
The Elite League, which is set to tip off on Friday, is Jamaica's top netball competition.
The championships will be contested by 72 of the island's top netball players.
Anderson says the tournament will assist with the Sunshine Girls' readiness for the World Cup, by preparing them mentally and physically.
This year's Netball World Cup will be held in Sydney, Australia in August.
According to Anderson, the Elite League will give national players the experience of very competitive matches leading into the Netball World Cup.
She says it is for their benefit, and it is for them to hone and sharpen their skills and for them to get match ready and match tough.
Anderson also says three Sunshine Girls have been added to each of the six Elite teams in order to maintain the competitiveness in the sides throughout the competition.
