"We planned for the record" coach Neil Harrison of Kingston College told The Gleaner, following Akeem Bloomfield's rewrite of local history with a national junior record of 44.93 seconds in the boys class one 400 metres race, at the ISSA Boys and Girls' Athletics Champions (Champs), currently under way inside the national stadium.

The mark eclipsed both the national junior record of 45.21 previously held by Davian Clarke as well as Javon Francis' 45.00 for Calabar High School, at Champs last year.

Harrison's sublime feat took him into dizzying territory internationally.
