GEORGETOWN, Guyana (CMC):

A brace from Pernell Schultz powered Guyana's Golden Jaguars to an impressive 2-0 victory over Grenada's Spice Boyz in a friendly international at the Guyana national stadium on Sunday night.

Schultz scored twice in the first half as Guyana outplayed Grenada to record their second victory in a week, following their 2-1 win over St Lucia.

Shultz, the Caledonia AIA forward, netted for Guyana in the 18th and 32nd minutes as the Jaguars dominated the first half in front of thousands of cheering spectators.

Guyana were boosted by the presence of former Fulham FC and now Colchester United FC defender, Matthew Briggs, and Bolton Wanderers' dapper midfielder, Neil Danns, who was involved in the two goals.

Danns intercepted a pass then found Vurlon Mills down the right flank, who crossed the ball into area for Shultz to slot in the

opening goal.

Fourteen minutes later, Danns picked out Emery Welshman, whose shot on goal rebounded for Shultz to accomplish a clinical finish, adding to the misery of the Grenadians.

Grenada played a better second half, but overall they were outplayed by the rampaging Jaguars, who missed other opportunities to convert.

Briggs' header from a corner was saved by the Grenadian keeper, while Sheldon Holder, who came on as a second-half substitute for Schultz, was left only to shoot to an open goal, but could not find his footing.
