Coopers Pen increase lead in Trelawny Major League football

Coopers Pen FC increased their lead in Zone A of the Hanover Football Association Monymusk Plantation Rum Major League to eight points after Sunday's 2-1 win over Upsetters FC in the eighth round of competition, to remain the only unbeaten team in the league.

Shaunavan McKenzie netted in the 29th minute to open the scoring, and then Christopher Noble double their lead at the 58th minute. Bevon Reid pulled back a goal for Upsetters in the 75th minute.

In Zone B, the lead is jointly held by Harmony FC and Spicey Hill FC. Both clubs are on 16 points each, but Harmony (13) have scored three goals more than Spicey Hill, who have netted 10.

Spicey Hill

Spicey Hill lost on Sunday, falling 2-0 to Clarks Town. Lupton Haughton netted both goals for Clarks Town, in the 23rd and 47th minutes.

Meanwhile, in the other match on Sunday, the bottom club in Zone B, Wakefield SC, fought back to draw 2-2 with Kinloss FC.

Kinloss were given a 13th-minute lead when Nicholas Dixon scored, then Rawle Gentles added to the score with a 29th-minute strike. But Horace Gordon scored in the 78th minute, and a 90th-minute penalty from Decoy Palmer tied the game and made sure the home team shared the points.
