The St Ann Orchids recorded their first ever victory in the Berger Elite Netball League on Friday night.

They scored a 40-34 win over defending champions Kingston Humming Birds in third-round action at the Leila Robinson Courts.

Meanwhile, St James Sharpes are the new leaders of the competition following a narrow 47-46 win over the previously unbeaten Manchester Spurs.

She received good support from Jodi-Ann Ffrench, who netted 13 goals from 22 tries. Shantal Slater was the top scorer for the Spurs with 41 goals from 48 attempts.
