Jamaican youth athletes Michael O'Hara of Calabar High School and Jaheel Hyde of Wolmer's Boys' School have been barred from participating at the Penn Relays as high school athletes.

The Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association (PIAA) the governing body for the Penn Relays, regards the athletes as ineligible to participate because of benefits that they have received from sponsors.

According to the Inter-secondary Schools Sports Association, the PIAA said the two students are deemed to have received benefits related to their athletic skills and performance which are not available to all students at their high schools.

It says, on this basis, both athletes cannot represent their respective schools at the 2015 Penn Relays.
