Fresh off their first-ever victory in the Berger Paints Elite Netball competition, the St Ann Orchids will be aiming to make it two in a row when they take on the Manchester Spurs in today's feature game.

The match, which will be played at the Leila Robinson Courts, is set to start at 7:30 p.m. It will be preceded by the opening game between defending champions Kingston Hummingbirds and Clarendon Gaters at 6 p.m.

The Hummingbirds have been having a dismal run in this year's competition as they are yet to register a victory from their three matches.

national representatives

The Marvette Anderson-coached Hummingbirds will look to national representatives Thristina Harwood and Stacian Facey, along with former national Under-21 player Melissa Josephs, to lead them to victory.

The Gaters were beaten by St Catherine Racers in the last match and will be hoping that captain Nicole Aiken-Pinnock, Kasey Evering, Tracey-Ann Robinson can lead them to victory today.

exciting clash

The Orchids-Spurs clash is expected to be very exciting. Both teams are evenly matched in all departments.

The Orchids will welcome former national captain Simone Forbes to their starting line-up for today's game against the Spurs. Forbes missed the Orchids' last three matches because injury.

The Spurs are a very youthful and inexperienced side. However, despite this, they have managed to register two wins from three matches. They will be relying heavily on the national defender Vangelee Williams along with the versatile Nicole Dixon, Trishana Hanson and Shantal Slater to lead them to victory.
