ATHLETICS: Asafa wins 100m in Guadeloupe

Former world record holder Asafa Powell won the men’s 100 metres at an Invitational meet in Guadeloupe on Saturday.

Powell, who went in search of the season’s first sub-10 time, fell short with 10.08 seconds.

Diondre Batson of United States was second in 10.21 seconds while Jamaica's Winston Barnes was third in 10.35.

Demar Forbes won the men's long jump with a mark of 8.17 metres over Will Clay of USA with 8.11 metres.

National champion Leford Green finished sixth in the men's 400-metre hurdles in 50.74 seconds behind Bershawn Jackson of the USA, who won in 49.11 seconds.
