Top stars for Jamaica Int'l Invitational

Some of the world's top athletes will be on show at tomorrow's staging of the Jamaica International Invitational Meet at the National Stadium.

The men's 100 metres, which will feature former world record holder Asafa Powell, is expected to provide high of excitement for fans.

Powell is expected to face strong competition from American Ryan Bailey, St Kitts and Nevis' Kim Collins and Jamaicans Nester Carter and Kemar Bailey-Cole and Richard Thompson of Trinidad and Tobago.

American Tyson Gay is down to contest the men's 200 metres, which will include Jamaica's Nickel Ashmeade, Rasheed Dwyer and Julian Forte.  

Olympic champion Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce will take on her former clubmate Sherone Simpson, Tori Bowie of the United States and The Bahamas' Shaunae Miller in the women's 200 metres. 

Novelene Williams-Mills and American Sanya Richards will do battle in the women's 400 metres.

The event also features Christine Ohuruogu of Great Britian and Jamaica's Christine Day.

The men's 400 metres will feature Jamaica's Javon Francis, Akeem Bloomfield, and Edino Steele and American, LaShawn Merritt.
