ATHLETICS: VCB, Fraser-Pryce set for Shanghai Diamond League

World and Olympic champions Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce and Veronica Campbell Brown are among 10 Jamaicans down to participate at the second meeting of the 2015 IAAF Diamond League in Shanghai on May 17.

Fraser-Pryce and Campbell Brown are to face off in the women’s 100 metres along with Schillonie Calvert. 

The race also includes Americans Tori Bowie and Muna Lee. 

Also included in the 100 metres field are Michelle-Lee Ahye of Trinidad and Tobago, Blessing Okagbare of Nigeria and the Chinese pair of Yujia Tao and Yingli Wei.

The men’s 200 metres will also features three Jamaicans.

They are Nickel Ashmeade, Rasheed Dwyer and Julian Forte.

They will face off against Alonso Edwards of Panama, American Curtis Mitchell and Churandy Martina of the Netherlands.

Kaliese Spencer, who won the Diamond League women’s 400 metres hurdles title, will also compete in Shanghai.

The other Jamaicans on the provisional entry lists are Kimberly Williams in the women’s Triple Jump, Jason Morgan in the men’s discus throw and Andrew Riley in the men’s 110-metre hurdles.
