West Indies women’s captain Merissa Aguilleira says the team is rearing to go against Sri Lanka when the two sides meet in round three of the ICC Women’s One Day International (ODI) series set to start in Colombo on Wednesday.

The Windies, which is without some of its experienced players, has just completed a training camp in the Sri Lankan capital.

They are oozing confidence ahead of the series.

The series includes four ODIs but only the final three matches scheduled will count towards the eight-team ICC Women’s Championship.

Aguilleira says they are determined to do well in the series.

She says it is crucial for the team to gain points as they continue to compete for a top spot in the ICC Women’s Championship rankings.

According to Aguilleira, the team's preparations have gone well and everyone is upbeat ahead of the series opener.

And the team captain says the players have acclimatized themselves well to the conditions in Sri Lanka.

The West Indies is currently sitting fifth on the table while Sri Lanka is seventh.
