ATHLETICS: Beijing organisers say no to Gatlin after 9.74 seconds run in Doha
Controversial American sprinter Justin Gatlin says he has been denied a chance to compete at the Beijing World Challenge by meet organisers on Wednesday.
Gatlin was denied entry into the meet just a few days after he logged his fastest ever 100 metres time of 9.74 seconds in Doha on Friday.
Gatlin said he had planned to run as the headliner in the 100 metres despite slight injury concerns, but was told he was not wanted.
He says the meet organisers have no respect for him and his team and so they decided to go back home.
