BIRMINGHAM, England:
400m hurdler Kaliese Spencer stormed to victory at the Alexander Stadium in Birmingham to record yet another Diamond League victory.

Spencer, who won the same event in Shanghai, set off like a train to record a season best time of 54.45 seconds.

Apart from a few stutters over the hurdles in the home straight, the experienced runner was comfortable throughout while leaving her rivals in her wake.

Coming home behind the Jamaican were Cassandra Tate of the USA (54.73) and Czech Zuzana Hejnova (55.00), both of whom recorded season best times themselves.

A tired Spencer said post race: “I got away well but it was a bit windy down the back straight but I came through victorious which is the most important thing.

“I have been doing well here [in Birmingham] for years and I always love returning here to compete.”
