ATHLETICS: Janieve Russell lead qualifiers into 400m hurdles final

Commonwealth Games bronze medal winner Janieve Russell is the fastest qualifier heading into today's final of the women's 400m hurdles, leading all competitors with a time of 55.59 en route to winning her that at the JAAA/SVL National Senior Championships inside the National Stadium.

Russell was easy over the hurdles as she led Shevon Stoddart 55.74 to the line with Samantha Elliott, 56.42 taking third place in the heat.

In the second heat Ristananna Tracey, ran her best race of the season, stopping the clock at 56.22 to win ahead of Rushell Clayton 56.53 and Danielle Dowie, 56.81.

The final is set for Friday at 8:10 p.m.
