ATHLETICS: Veronica Campbell-Brown posts season best in Budapest
Veronica Campbell-Brown registered her first sub-11 seconds run in the 100m for the season, topping the field at the Gyulai Istvan Memorial meet in Budapest Hungary today.
Campbell-Brown stopped the clock at 10.99 seconds in a -1.2mps headwind, posting her new season best in the event, in what was her sixth 100m this season.
The Jamaican has not had the best of starts in her recent outings but would have been pleased this time around after getting out ahead of the pack and holding her form to beat American Tianna Bartoletta, 11.18 and Carina Horn from South Africa, who posted 11.19.
In the 400m hurdles for women, World Championships bound Shevon Stoddart was sixth in 56.06 with the American pair of Georganne Moline, 54.60 and Cassandra Tate, 55.06 taking the top two spots while Hanna Titimets of Ukraine finished third in 55.61.
