An entertaining half-century from England batsman Kevin Pietersen has propelled St Lucia Zouks to competitive 158 for four off 20 overs in their on-going Caribbean Premier League clash at Sabina Park.

Pietersen slammed an unbeaten 83 off 57 balls as the Zouks recovered from an uncomfortable position of 56 for three off 10 overs.

Pietersen, who hit four sixes and six fours, was best supported by captain Darren Sammy, who retired hurt on 29.

Left-arm seamer Krishmar Santokie, who lead the way early for the Tallawahs, finished with two for 29 off his maximum four overs, to end as the team's best bowler.

"The aim was to try and get some swing early on, and thankfully it worked," said Santokie at the end of the innings.

"It is just now for the bowlers to chase down the total, which I believe is a gettable one."
