Jamaica's Alia Atkinson placed fourth in the women's 200 metres breaststroke final at the 2015 Pan American Games in Toronto, Canada, last night.

Atkinson clocked 2:27.15. Hosts Canada won gold and silver. Kierra Smith captured the event in a Pan American Games record 2:24.38 while Martha McCabe was second in 2.24.51. American Annie Lazor pocketed bronze in 2:26.23.

The United States-based Atkinson will next compete in the 100m breaststroke and the 200m individual medley, an event in which she won silver four years ago at the 2011 Games in Guadalajara, Mexico.
