The Majesty Gardens basketball team has been fined $15,000 by the Southern Conference Basketball Association.

This after a stone throwing incident by their spectators following the team's 61 to 59 defeat to Upper Room Church in the Western Conference final on Saturday.

A match official, who was also injured in the incident, had to be taken to the hospital.

As part of their punishment, the Majesty Gardens basketball court has been banned for one-year and none of its players can be transferred to another club until the 15,000 fine is paid.

The team will not be allowed to participate in the third place game.

Their spot has been awarded to the Exced Heats.

The Majesty Gardens team has also been ordered to organise two properly constituted and recorded community sensitisation sessions which must be approved by the Southern Conference Basketball before they are allowed to enter any league competition in the future.
