Powell logs 9.87 win in Switzerland
Asafa Powell posted his 90th legal sub 10 seconds time of his career, on his way to winning the men's 100m at the Gala Dei Castelli meet in Bellinzona, Switzerland today.
Powell stopped the clock in 9.87 (0.0) seconds to win ahead of fellow Jamaican Nesta Carter, 10.05, with St Kitts and Nevis veteran Kim Collins finishing third in 10.13.
Jamaicans Kemarley Brown and Andrew Fisher, who are in the process of switching their allegiance to Bahrain, both clocked 10.21 for fourth and fifth respectively.
In the 'B' final, Jak Ali Harvey, who himself switched from Jamaica to Turkey recently, won in a time of 10.03, beating Jamaican Tyquendo Tracey, 10.23 and Japan's Kenji Fujimitsu, 10.24.
Michael Frater, 10.26 and Winston Barnes, 10.41 finished in fifth and sixth places.
Christania Williams, 11.21 was fourth in the women's 100m behind winner Tiana Bartoletta, 11.07, Mujinga Kambundji, 11.17 and Jessica Young, 11.20.
