CPL 2015: T&T Red Steel sends Jamaica Tallawahs packing after 27-run defeat
The Jamaica Tallawahs were this evening knocked out of this year’s Caribbean Premier League Twenty20 competition by the Trinidad and Tobago Red Steel in their play off encounter at the Queen’s Park Oval in Port of Spain.
The Red Steel defeated the Tallawahs by 27 runs to secure their place in Saturday’s semi final against Guyana Amazon Warriors.
Set 153 runs to win, the Tallawahs were bowled out for 125 in 19.3 overs.
The Red Steel captain Dwayne Bravo ripped the Tallawahs' batting line up, taking five wickets for 23 runs.
Chadwick Walton top-scored for the Tallawahs with 30 while Captain Chris Gayle got 30 runs off 21 balls.
Earlier, Darren Bravo hit an unbeaten 86 off 63 balls to lead the Red Steel to 152 for six off 20 overs.
Jerome Taylor was the leading wicket-taker for the Tallawahs with two for 28.
The Red Steel will face the Guyana Amazon Warriors in Saturday's semi final.
