Salcia Slack to tackle hurdles from lane four
When Salcia Slack takes to the track in Beijing, China at 8 p.m this evening, she will do so from lane four in heat two of the 100m hurdles of the Heptathlon.
Slack will be the first Jamaican in action at the eight-day IAAF World Championships, which began earlier this evening.
The 25-year-old former Holmwood Technical standout, who recorded her 100m hurdles personal best of 13.68 in April of this year, will also be in action at 9:20 pm when she competes in group B of the women’s high jump of the Heptathlon.
She has a personal best clearance of 1.65m, recorded last year, while her season best of 1.62m was recorded in April.
The other events that form part of the seven-event discipline are: the 200m, long jump, javelin throw and the 800m.
