Damar Forbes leaps into action

Forbes, who placed eighth in 2013, will hope to get back to his best form which came that same year when he jumped 8.25 meters.

Damar Forbes will aim to progress to consecutive IAAF World Championships long jump finals when he competes in the qualifying round of the event at 9 p.m.

So far this season his furthest mark is 8.16m which he achieved in June.

The 24-year-old is seeking to replicate the performance of national record holder James Beckford in earning a medal in the discipline at the world championships.
