O'Dayne Richards seeks historic shot put medal

O’Dayne Richards will seek to land Jamaica’s first ever shot put medal at a senior championships when he lines up in the men's final at 6:30 a.m.

The national record holder's qualifying throw of 20.55m is the sixth best going into the final.

USA's 2015 world leader Joe Kovacs leads the field with 21.36m, followed by compatriot Reese Hoffa (20.75m) and Germany's David Storl (21.26m).
